A wide riverbed on the way to Palampur
Neugal Khad is a broad, boulder-strewn riverbed roughly six kilometres from Bir, fed by a seasonal waterfall that's fullest just after the monsoon. It's less a single viewpoint than a wide, open stretch of the Neugal river — locals and travellers alike come here to wade in the shallows, spread a mat on the rocks, or just sit with the Dhauladhar range in the background. It's an easy, unplanned stop on the way to or from Palampur, and one of the few spots in the area where you can get right down to the water.
