July 2025: What’s Happening Across Himachal?

This monsoon has been intense. News of cloudbursts, landslides, and blocked roads in popular tourist areas has left many plans canceled. If you’re planning a trip to the mountains, you need verified safety, not just beautiful pictures on Instagram.

That’s why Bir Billing stands out not just for being safe, but for offering something even rarer: a destination that blends monsoon magic with raw, quiet adventure.

Areas in Himachal Pradesh to Avoid (for Now)

  • Manali and Kullu Valley (frequent landslides, cloudbursts)
  • Kasol and Parvati Valley
  • Shimla (certain roads blocked due to tree falls and landslides)
  • Mandi and Pandoh stretch

Why Bir Billing is One of the Safest Spot in Himachal Pradesh

No Reported Landslides in Bir Area

The surrounding geography of Bir Billing is relatively more stable compared to high-altitude zones. Till now, there have been no major reports of landslides within Bir or on the Kangra-Bir route.

Safe Road Access via Kangra

Most of the affected areas are on routes through Mandi and Kullu, but the road to Bir from Kangra (NH-154 and NH-503) is open and safe for travel. It’s the most recommended route if you’re planning a road trip now.

Minimal Rain Impact

Yes, it rains here — but the monsoon in Bir is more poetic than dangerous. Think light showers, cool winds, and clouds drifting lazily across mountain peaks. Not floodwater or chaos.

Is Anything Closed Right Now?

  • Paragliding is temporarily paused due to wet launch zones and wind patterns
  • Hidden waterfalls and remote treks are not accessible right now (due to flash flood risk)
  • Some forest trails may have temporary closures for safety

Monsoon Weather in Bir Billing – July 2025

As of now, daytime temperatures hover around 18–22°C, with light showers on most evenings. Mornings are usually clear, perfect for outdoor walks. The rains here are soothing, not the kind that floods roads or traps you indoors.

It’s perfect weather if you’re looking to unwind, slow down, and reconnect with nature.
